How and when do you apply sunscreen?
It turns out most of us only use about half as much as we should. Here is the recommended sunscreen protocol from the CDC:
* Check the expiration date - it does matter.
* Be sure to vigorously shake your sunscreen first to mix the ingredients.
* You’ll need a full shot glass full, about one ounce - and you’ll need to put that on a half hour BEFORE you head out. That’s how long it takes to absorb.
* You’ll need to do another shot every two hours.
If you’re sensitive to sunscreen, that’s no excuse not to use it. Look for PABA-free or a water-based product if you are prone to acne or have oily skin.
