• Too Much TV Time: If this is your routine night after night, you may want to lose the remote for a while. Happier people watch less TV than unhappy people –and an increase in TV time could be red flag.
• Troubled Relationships: Unhappier people may have more difficultly resolving issues and may not attempt to broaden their circle of friends.
• Stressful environments: Feeling safe and comfortable generates contentment and satisfaction. Stressful environments enhance unhappiness. Those who stop making an effort to improve stressful situations are likely not very happy people.
• Constant Pleasure Seeking: This is a big red flag. Unhappy people often go too far trying to get happy. Overspending and overindulging on a hedonic treadmill will likely leave them feeling empty and wanting more.
