Some of the healthiest food on the planet is now in season.

Every season has a new crop of healthy food and right now some really good stuff is ripe for the picking. 

• Beets are a great source of fiber and anti-oxidants. Choose beets with healthy tops and roast them for the best flavor.

• Asparagus is packed with vitamin K. It’s also good for your eyes, heart, lungs and kidneys.

• Strawberries reduce inflammation and can help with weight loss too.

• Artichokes can help prevent heart disease. One medium-size artichoke is really filling and has just 60 fat-free calories.

• Arugula has eight times the calcium as iceberg lettuce and is also a good source of iron, A, C and K.
