If you’re packing on pounds with comfort food through the cold winter, get a grip.
Spring is just around the corner and we can use the cold weather to lose some weight. A recent study found that mildly cold indoor air can actually activate your body to burn some fat. The sweet spot for weight loss on your thermostat is somewhere between 63 and 66 degrees.
You won’t have to leave it there. Dropping the indoor temperature for two hours a day, for six weeks, can trigger the effect. This works best for middle-aged people and might have the opposite effect on children and senior citizens because their metabolisms tend to slow down in the cold.
