Cotton sheets are nice - but silk is even better.
We associate silk with luxury but it just happens to be really good for us too. Silk sheets and pajamas, for instance, not only feel great - but they can actually improve the quality of our sleep. They’re a good option for those with allergies because silk is resistant to dust mites. Anyone suffering from night sweats will be more comfortable in silk too. Silk has the ability to regulate temperature, letting excess body heat escape. Those with conditions such as dry skin, eczema, shingles or joint pain often experience an improvement after sleeping in silk due to less friction from the fabric.
If you’re not ready to splurge on silk sheets, consider a silk pillowcase. Not only do they reduce friction and wrinkles, they’re not as absorbent as cotton and help you retain your skin’s natural moisture while you sleep.
