How many push-ups can you do?
If it’s less than 10, you’re probably out of shape. According to the New York Times, the simple push-up is the ultimate barometer of fitness. Push-ups use all the right muscles in your arms, chest, abdomen hips and legs and they can improve balance, coordination and overall strength.
If you’re a 40 year old woman, you should be able to do 16 push-ups. Drop and give me 27 if you’re a 40 year old man. By age 60, women should still be able to do about 6 push-ups – and men, about 17.
