If you’re scheduled for a blood or lab test - you might want to skip taking them for a few days. Certain vitamins and supplements, such as vitamin C, calcium, folic acid and riboflavin can alter the results of a blood or lab tests and produce false positives or negatives. It’s a good idea to ask your doctor about the vitamins or supplements you take if you’re scheduled for a test. He or she may advise you stop taking them a day or two ahead of time.
