If you’re tall, you may be at a higher risk of colon cancer, while short people may be more likely to wind up with Alzheimer’s Disease.
A recent study looked at some data linking height and disease and found some puzzling links. Tall people were more prone to certain cancers than short people, including colon, kidney, pancreatic and breast cancers. Short people were not off the hook, they were more likely to suffer from stroke, cardiovascular disease and Alzheimer’s.
Researchers continue to observe and speculate what the connections between height and disease risk are, but they haven’t quite figured it out yet. While doctors may start taking your height, or lack thereof, into consideration, genetics and lifestyle are MUCH bigger factors regarding your health and potential risks.
