Crack Attack

Whether your driveway is made of asphalt or concrete, you really should scan it every year for cracks.

Cracks are relatively easy to fix, and if left alone, could turn in to a much bigger and expensive hassle. There are two key places to check for cracks:

Where the driveway meets the garage, where rain coming off your house gets in and causes damage to both the driveway and the foundation.

Near any driveway joints, including seams to allow for expansion or surface changes. It can be hard to see cracks in the joints, so you want to clear them of any dirt and take a close look.

Once you've located any cracks, clean them out well and use the appropriate sealer for your surface. Most of these products work best when applied on warm, dry days.
