There are a lot of options in the sunscreen isle...
If you’re buying it for your kids to use – find the SPF you want and then choose the PUMP version. Researchers in Australia, which has the world’s highest rate of skin cancer, put some kids and bottles to the test. They found that kids using sunscreen from bottles with a pump dispenser were much better protected than the others. Kids using squeeze bottles were a close second. The other options were spray and roll-on sunscreen dispensers – and those kids wound up significantly exposed.
Sunscreen that is applied to the body with direct hand contact makes it much easier for you to see and feel where you’ve missed. If you think your kids can do a thorough job themselves, think again. 5 and 6 year olds were actually the best at it. 7 to 12 year olds didn’t use nearly enough.
