Those earbuds are labeled left and right - so does it matter?

Most people just pop earbuds into their ears without checking the label...

They’re labeled left and right for a reason and it really does matter if you want premium sound. It’s all about psychoacoustics, which is the science of sound and how we hear. Our ears do pick up and process slightly different variations of sound elements such as timbre, bass and loudness. Professionally mixed stereo audio is sensitive to that. Flip the buds around and it will sound a bit different.

If you’d rather not struggle identifying your buds, take a moment to mark one of them with a marker or piece of colored tape. If you've got different color earbuds, switch the little rubber pads on one bud for easy ID.
